The Grand Lodge Officer
​
A Lodge's Grand Lodge Officer (GLO) is appointed by the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master to provide a direct link and interface with The Lodge, Provincial Grand Lodge and United Grand Lodge of England. W Bro John Child is the Lodge's current Grand Lodge Officer.

W Bro John was initiated in to the Hamlet of Van Lodge No.8334 in 1977 and installed as Worshipful Master in 1988. He is a founder member of Princes Lodge No 9036, he held the post of Lodge Treasurer for more than twenty five years and became its Worshipful Master in 2015.

He is a joining member of Hendre Lodge No. 3250 and a joining member of Charles Lynne Lodge No.2964 (Installed Masters) in the Province of Monmouthshire.

In Provincial Grand Lodge he was appointed as Past Provincial Junior Grand Deacon in 1994, promoted to Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 2003 and appointed as Provincial Grand Treasurer in 2011
​
In Royal Arch Masonry W Bro John was exalted in Hamlet of Van Chapter No8334 in 1988 and is a joining member of Dovey Chapter No.2720.
​
In the Ancient and Accepted Rite (Rose Croix HRDM); W Bro John was perfected into Caerphilly Chapter No.1011 in 1992 and enthroned as Most Wise Sovereign in 2003. He was advanced to the 30th Degree in 2005. He is a joining member of Richard William Dicker Chapter No. 1172.
